Jordon Beyer is hoping Germany can replicate their 2014 World Cup success this winter in Qatar, as the four-time winners aim for a fifth World Cup trophy.
Kempen-born Beyer, who represented Germany's U21 side last week against Italy in a friendly, discusses his stand-out tournaments, favourite player, memorable shirt and best goalkeeper amongst his memories.
Beyer on his stand-out World Cup tournaments:
"Unfortunately for me as a German, it was 2018 in Russia, the worst memory as it was done for us just after three games.
"We lost in the group stages and we're out, but the best one has to be 2014 where we beat Argentina in Brazil."
Beyer on his favourite World Cup match:
"That would be the 2014 semi-final against Brazil, we won 7-1 and obviously went on to win it."
Beyer on his favourite World Cup player:
"I would have to say Cristiano Ronaldo, he shows up every tournament."
Beyer on his favourite World Cup goal:
"That's tough, I would go with Benjamin Pavard's goal against Argentina in 2018."
Beyer on his favourite World Cup goalkeeper:
"I loved the performance from Manuel Neuer against Algeria in the Round of 16 at the 2014 World Cup, he played like a fifth defender."
Beyer on his favourite World Cup shirt:
"I have a Luis Figo Portugal shirt from 2006, so I would say it would be that one."
