Midfielder previews this weekend's trip to Tottenham

Sander Berge says the Clarets have to 'showcase' what they can do heading into the final two fixtures of the Premier League campaign as Burnley travel to Spurs on Saturday.

Vincent Kompany's side take on Tottenham in London this weekend in the final away game of the campaign and Berge admits the team are confident ahead of the encounter, but knows the hosts will give them a challenging afternoon.

Speaking ahead of the trip, the Norwegian midfielder said: "I mean we go into the game with the confidence that we have built up from all the recent games and training that has got us here to this moment.

"Obviously we treat every game and opponent with the same respect and same demands. We just have to go in and believe that the game we show when we have been really good and been at it, that we can compete against anyone.

"At the same time, we're well aware we are coming up against a top top team with great individuals, but for us it's all about ourselves. We have to showcase what we can do and what we're about to make something happen.

"It takes a lot, being in this position it's about being smart & clever and getting an understanding of what we need to do on Saturday and how we can make the difference."

When asked about Spurs' recent form, Berge explained: "They're a great team. Every team in the world goes sometimes out of form a little bit in the last couple of results and some are very in form, but everyone in the Premier League can punish you and they can beat anyone on their day and they have so much quality in their team.

"So we just look at what they are, what identities they have and how we can play. That being said, it's more like a look of them in general as during the whole season, not just the last few games because losing some games doesn't mean you know that their habits or the quality isn't there.

"They're still a top side and I'll be sure they will be a tough task for us and they will be at their best."

Berge was recently awarded Burnley's Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season and the 26-year-old says he is 'thankful' to be working under Kompany & his staff and admits he has 'learnt so much' in his first season in Claret & Blue.

"What I've learned in this year, there's so much you know. We're thankful to work with him (Kompany) and his coaching staff, each and every single day they spend so much time with us to improve, to get better and to adjust to the league and take the next step to become a good Premier League player.

"So, yes we have learned a lot, week by week it is a slow process but at the same time we've got so much input in the first two, three months and so many experiences, so many reflections."
