Burnley Football Club are delighted to announce that midfielder Joe Bauress has signed a long-term first professional contract with the Club.
The 17-year-old first joined the Club’s academy aged eight. Progressing through the ranks, and beginning to play up age groups, he made his U18s debut in March 2021, just two months after his 15th birthday.
Also representing England at U15 level, Bauress was a mainstay in the youth team for the Clarets in the 2021/22 season, missing only two league games.
And in 2022/23, the young midfielder cemented a place in the U21s side as well as training regularly with Vincent Kompany’s first-team squad.

Back in November, still aged 16, Bauress made his senior bow against Crawley Town at Turf Moor in the Carabao Cup. In doing so, he became the Club’s youngest player since the turn of the century.
Now having signed his first professional deal, Bauress said: “I’m delighted to have signed this contract. When you first start playing for a Club so young, this moment is what you dream of.
“I’ve been here over nine years now, and I only want to carry on improving. To do that I know it’s going to require more hard work from me, and that’s what the Club are going to get.
“There are far too many people who have helped me along my journey here so far to mention individually, but to anyone that has I just want to say a massive ‘thank you’.
“Without every little bit of help, signing this contract today wouldn’t have been possible.”
