Erik Pieters could continue his run in the side after recovering from injury in time to face Newcastle United on Sunday.
Pieters was replaced after half-an-hour of the Clarets’ 3-2 defeat at Southampton last Sunday.
But the Dutchman – who has just celebrated becoming a father for the first time – has shaken off the knock to his upper leg to return to training and stake his claim to carry on in Burnley's left-back role.
Charlie Taylor returned from injury at St Mary’s Stadium to replace Pieters and add to the competition for a starting slot.

And right-back Phil Bardsley will also be back in the Clarets’ squad to face the Tynesiders at Turf Moor after a family bereavement forced him to miss only Burnley’s second defeat in nine league games.
Dyche therefore has one senior man back, but will again be without striker Ashley Barnes, defender Kevin Long and winger Robbie Brady for the visit of Newcastle, who are four points behind Burnley in the table and just one place above the drop-zone ahead of Fulham’s Friday night meeting with Wolves.
The Clarets have kept the bottom-three at arm’s length on the back of a productive run since the turn of the year.

And even though Burnley have drawn their last five home games, Dyche is not concerned by the wait for a win as his side returns to Turf Moor for the first time in over a month.
“Generally, our home form remains strong,” he said.
“Points on the board are important, no matter where you get them.
“There have been some good performances in there. There have been some we should have won and a couple that could have possibly gone against us.
“They’re the margins that are tight. We know that. A lot of away form this season has changed.
“There’s no over-thinking it. We’ve been strong, historically, at home. We still are, generally speaking.
“It’s just those margins, getting on the right side of them to turn those draws into wins.”
