Burnley Football Club can confirm that Joe Ashton has joined Hyde United on a month-long loan deal.
The move is the defender’s first taste of senior football, having signed a professional contract in the summer.
Initially signing a two-year scholarship with the Clarets in 2022, Ashton has progressed through the ranks and was a regular starter with the U21s last season.
The 18-year-old has started in a similar vein this campaign and will now continue his development with Hyde, who play in the Northern Premier League.
Ashton could debut for his new club in his native Merseyside tomorrow, with the Tigers taking on Southport in the second qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup.
