Jaidon Anthony felt that the Clarets battled for the three points on Tuesday night in the 1-0 win against Plymouth Argyle.
Reflecting after the game, the winger was happy the side created more chances on the evening and believes it'll give a good confidence boost heading into Saturday's encounter with Preston North End.
“It was another tough game but at the end of the day we’re buzzing with the three points. I thought we were top first half and probably every part of the team we want to be. The second half they came out and we struggled to get control, but everyone worked hard and battled for the three points so we’re happy with that in the end.”
A Josh Brownhill penalty was the difference on the night but a slender 1-0 lead can always lead to a nervy last few minutes.
“Yes exactly. I thought everyone worked their socks off. We probably should have scored more; we created a lot of chances in the first half and when you’re playing that well you want to kill the game off. We didn’t do that, and we had to fight until the end, and we did that - so we’re happy.”

Scott Parker's men did have chances, with Jaidon, Lyle Foster and Luca Koleosho all coming close. Following last Saturday's goalless draw against Oxford United, the 24-year-old was pleased to see more attacking threat from the team.
“We wanted to come out and put on a good performance. I thought first half we were dynamic and caused them a lot of problems. We’re happy we could have done that. The next step is taking it throughout the whole game and I’m sure we’ll get there for sure.”
The result sees the Clarets climb up the Championship table, which Anthony believes will help with positivity and confidence heading into another game in four days time.
“We want to be right up there for as long as possible, it’s a great confidence boost and come Saturday we’ll be ready again and hopefully we can keep climbing.”
And with back-to-back home fixtures, how important is getting wins on home turf in this league?
“It’s vital. We want to make this place a fortress and if we keep winning at home, then we’ll have a good chance come the end. Hopefully on Saturday we can do that again.”
