Burnley Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Emmanuel Airoboma, who joins our U21s squad following a successful trial period.
The centre-back, who was most recently with Liverpool, scored in the Lancashire FA Senior Cup final victory over Blackburn Rovers earlier this month.
After finalising his deal, he said: “It’s good to be here.
“Burnley is a big club, so it’s a good place for me to be develop and hopefully push on.
“The facilities are very good, and all of the staff have been really nice, so it’s been easy to settle in.
“I like to progress the ball, be aggressive, and win my one-on-one duels. I pride myself on that and I look forward to playing against the best players in the country.”
Born and raised in Liverpool, Airoboma started his playing career as a youngster at his local grassroots team and Everton.
Then came a move to Liverpool, where he progressed right the way through the Academy ranks to complete his scholarship and later sign his first professional contract last summer.
After featuring in the U18 Premier League 12 times in in 2024/25, the 19-year-old furthered his development with UEFA Youth league appearances against the likes of Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and Eintracht Frankfurt last term.
Airoboma has signed a one-year contract with the Clarets that runs until the summer of 2027, with the Club holding a 12-month extension option.
Academy Manager Chris Casper added: “Emmanuel has impressed us during his trial, so we’re delighted to formally welcome him to the Club.
“He has a strong physical profile and is comfortable on the ball at the back, so I look forward to seeing how he gets on this season.”
