Seven players from the Clarets academy are currently out on loan across the Football League & non-league pyramid , with a further one now back at the Club after seeing his loan spell come to an end.
With the weather taking its toll on various non-league games, and Isuzu FA Trophy action going ahead, here’s how all of them fared over the last seven days.
Bobby Thomas (Bristol Rovers)
Barring one game in which he was suspended, centre back Thomas has been an ever-present in Sky Bet League One for Joey Barton’s Rovers since joining on a season-long loan deal in summer.

That record continued on Saturday as Thomas – with Burnley since 2017 – played a key role in keeping a clean sheet when the Gas beat Peterborough United 1-0 at the Memorial Stadium.
This Week’s Games: WED – Colchester United (A – Papa John’s Trophy) & SUN – Boreham Wood (H – Emirates FA Cup)
Finn Armstrong (FC United of Manchester)
Armstrong has also been a key figure in FC United of Manchester’s side since his loan spell started, though missed Tuesday night’s European game against Belgian outfit KSV Beveren at Broadhurst Park with a knock.
The fixture came in the Fenix Trophy consisting of nine teams from nine different trophies, with FC running out 4-1 winners. The full back though returned on Saturday as the Reds were beaten 3-1 on home soil by Gainsborough Trinity in the Northern Premier League’s Premier Division.

In the Clarets academy from the age of 12, Armstrong’s loan with FC – who at the time of writing sit 3rd in the table - is scheduled to run until 31st December.
This Week’s Games: SAT – Stafford Rangers (A)
Jacson Coppack (Padiham)
18-year-old Coppack has been at Burnley since 2020, and his loan spell with Padiham has now come to an end as of 21st November.
The Storks last week saw a Lancashire Challenge Trophy tie at Charnock Richard postponed due to a waterlogged pitch before losing 3-0 away against West Didsbury & Chorlton.
Coppack sat both of those games out through injury, and is now back with the Clarets.
Joe McGlynn (Hyde United)
Striker McGlynn, like Armstrong, has been with the Clarets from the age of 12 and is currently out on loan in the Northern Premier League’s Premier Division.

A Scottish youth international, the forward didn’t feature for Hyde in their 4-1 Cheshire Senior Cup win at Runcorn Town. That victory has set up a meeting with Macclesfield FC in the next round of the competition.
The Tigers didn’t have a game at the weekend either due to Warrington Town’s involvement in the Isuzu FA Trophy.
McGlynn’s youth loan runs until 23rd November, and this week he could face fellow Clarets loanee Sam Waller when Hyde take on Lancaster City.
This Week’s Games: TUE – Lancaster City (H) & SAT – Marine (A)
Lewis Richardson (Grimsby Town)
On a season-long loan at Blundell Park, forward Richardson was an unused substitute for the Mariners in their 1-1 draw with Stevenage in Sky Bet League Two action on Saturday.
Grimsby netted a last minute leveller in that game, and at the time of writing sit 16th.

This week, the forward – who has been a Burnley player since the age of nine – could face fellow loanee Lukas Jensen when Town host Accrington Stanley in the Papa John’s Trophy.

Lukas Jensen (Accrington Stanley)
Goalkeeper Jensen’s loan with Stanley is also on a season-long basis.
He was an unused substitute as the Reds claimed an important 1-0 win away at Cambridge United on Saturday, moving away from the relegation zone in Sky Bet League One.
This Week’s Games: TUE – Grimsby Town (A – Papa John’s Trophy) & SAT – Barnet (H – Emirates FA Cup)
Sam Waller (Lancaster City)
With no midweek game for goalkeeper Waller, who is at the Giant Axe on a youth loan until 3rd January 2023, focus turned to the Isuzu FA Trophy on Saturday.
A trip to Chester FC, who play a league above Lancaster, brought late heartbreak for the Dolly Blues who lost out 2-1 to a last minute goal. City had led up until the 72nd minute.

Waller has been a Claret since the age of 12.
This Week’s Games: TUE – Hyde United (A) & SAT – Ashton United (H)
Will Hugill (Leek Town)
Hugill, who is with Leek until 4th December, had the busiest week of all eight loanees.
As allowed in the terms of his youth loan, the versatile midfielder played the full game last Monday for the Clarets U21s who beat Barnsley 3-0 at Turf Moor.
The following evenings, he was an unused substitute for Leek as they beat Widnes 3-0 in league action to move up to 2nd behind Macclesfield FC.
And rounding off the week, lifelong Burnley fan Hugill played the full game in the Isuzu FA Trophy as Leek lost out 1-0 at Chorley, who ply their trade two divisions higher.
This Week’s Games: SAT – Colne (H)
