Six players from the Clarets academy are currently out on loan across the Football League & non-league pyramid, with a further one now back at the Club having seen his own loan now having come to an end.
Four of those seven featured against each other as various cup competitions came around oncemore, and here’s how they all fared over the last seven days.
Bobby Thomas (Bristol Rovers)
Centre back Thomas went through a week of highs and lows with the Gas, who had their sights set on two different cup competitions.
The defender played the full game in midweek as Joey Barton’s side progressed into the last 16 of the Papa John’s Trophy courtesy of a 2-1 win at Colchester United. They will play MK Dons at the Memorial Stadium in the next round.

But Thomas, who has been with Burnley since 2017, won’t play any further part in the Emirates FA Cup for Rovers this season after they bowed out of that competition on Sunday at home to Boreham Wood who ran out 2-0 victors.
On a season-long loan, Thomas played the first 45 minutes in that game.
This Week’s Games: FRI – Bolton Wanderers (A)
Finn Armstrong (FC United of Manchester)
In the Clarets academy since he was 12, Armstrong’s loan with FC United is set to run until 31st December.
The Reds had been top of the Northern Premier League’s Premier Division at one point this season, but have hit a rough patch of form and that continued on Saturday as they lost 1-0 at Stafford Rangers. Full back Armstrong played the full game.
This Week’s Games: SAT – Belper Town (H)
Joe McGlynn (Hyde United)
A Scottish youth international who has been a Claret from the age of 12, McGlynn’s loan with Hyde has now come to an end.

He is though the first of the four loanees to have faced a fellow Burnley loanee over the course of the last week having rounded off his time with the Tigers up against Sam Waller.
Withdrawn in time added on at the end of the second half, the striker ended up on the losing side as Waller’s Lancaster City claimed a 2-1 win.
Lewis Richardson (Grimsby Town)
Striker Richardson – who is on a season-long loan - also faced off against a fellow loanee on Tuesday evening as Accrington Stanley visited Blundell Park in the Papa John’s Trophy with Lukas Jensen between the sticks.
The forward, who has been at Burnley since he was nine, came on 63 minutes into that contest but came out on the losing side as Stanley claimed a 1-0 victory.

Lukas Jensen (Accrington Stanley)
Goalkeeper Jensen is also with Stanley on a season-long basis in Sky Bet League One.
Keeping a clean sheet in that Papa John’s Trophy tie against the Mariners, he helped to set up a meeting with Burton Albion in the last 16 of the competition.
The Danish shot stopper, who has been a Claret since 2019, was then an unused substitute at home against Barnet in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday as the Reds claimed a narrow 1-0 win oncemore.
This Week’s Games: SAT – Oxford United (H)
Sam Waller (Lancaster City)
Fellow ‘keeper Waller, who is with Lancaster until 3rd January 2023, also enjoyed a double winning week which included that victory against McGlynn’s Hyde.

Will Hugill (Leek Town)
Versatile midfielder Hugill, a lifelong Clarets fan, has been in the Club’s academy since 2020.
He is on a youth loan with Leek until 4th December, though is permitted to play for Burnley throughout that time and did so as the U21s were defeated at Swansea City in the Premier League Cup on Monday.
Picking up a knock in that game, he sat out Leek’s 1-0 win at home against Colne come the weekend,
