Hello and welcome to Turf Moor for our game against Sheffield United.
I want to wish everybody celebrating a Happy Easter weekend and thank you for joining us for today’s game.
Due to the Easter print deadlines, I’m writing these notes ahead of our trip to Watford on Good Friday.
Looking back to our last game against Norwich City, I was delighted to get another three valuable points on the board. It was a nervy ending as Norwich clawed a goal back, but I was pleased with the reaction we showed on the night. We dug in and you the fans were right behind the team. That makes all the difference and we’re going to need that support heading into a big game at Turf Moor today.
Having taken onboard fan feedback, we recently announced the news that we are implementing a new flag policy and flags that meet our safety criteria are now encouraged at the stadium. To bring a flag to Turf Moor please visit the FAQs section of our website, submit your request and a member of our team will respond to you.
In addition to this ahead of the game today we will also be distributing 2,000 flags to the first fans through the turnstiles. The flags can be re-used at future games so as well as arriving early to take in the atmosphere, we encourage you to be here in good time to be one of the first to receive a flag!
I’m passionate about the matchday experience and I’m hoping this is a positive step forward in this area.
As we approach the end of the season our women’s team and U21s are nearing the end of their respective campaigns, and both have a game scheduled to take place at Turf Moor in the coming days.
The U21s play Watford at the stadium tomorrow afternoon at 1pm and the women’s team will end their season here against Sporting Khalsa on Sunday 27th April at 2pm.
Tickets for both games are available online and season ticket holders can secure a free ticket on our website.
The two fixtures are set to be great occasions and if you can make it, please do come and support the teams.
Now, turning our focus to today’s game, we’re all set for an entertaining evening of football ahead of us. It means so much to both teams and both set of fans. We all know what we’re playing for.
Let’s make sure Turf Moor is rocking and show Scott and the players that we’re right behind them.
UTC!
Alan
