Good evening, welcome to Turf Moor for tonight’s game against Oxford United.

Thank you to all the fans who made the long journey down to Portsmouth at the weekend. As I mentioned in my notes in the Leeds matchday programme, we’ve kicked the year off with some long journeys and we’re immensely grateful for your support on the road.

We travel again to Southampton on Saturday but then I’m pleased we’ll all be closer to home with a sold out away end at Preston the following weekend!

I thought we showed our resilience again on Saturday at Fratton Park, with our 21st clean sheet of the campaign, and the afternoon saw us break and extend the Club’s record for consecutive minutes without conceding a goal to 734 minutes.

This is testament to the hard work the players, Scott and the coaching staff are putting in on the training pitch.

Tonight, we have an opportunity to put in a positive performance in front of you, the home supporters, at Turf Moor.

We’ve had some wet and windy conditions for recent home fixtures, but you’ve been there in your numbers showing your support. For this we thank you and I want you all to know it does not go unnoticed by Scott and the players.

We were delighted to launch our new mini-series Keeping The Faith recently, featuring new and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the current 2024/25 season.

Through the series we hope to give fans a more intimate look at the Club and tell the stories of characters across our Men’s, Academy and Women’s team.

As Chairman, I’ve always said I aim to be as open as I can be with you, the supporters. The connection between the Club, the fans, and the town, is one of the key factors that makes Burnley so special. I hope that the access and raw nature of Keeping The Faith helps to strengthen that connection further.

I’m writing these notes ahead of the closure of the January transfer window. The window has seen incomings and outgoings, one of whom was Jay Rodriguez. A claret through and through, I want to place on record my thanks to Jay for all his efforts during his years at Burnley Football Club.
