Alan's notes ahead of tonight's game

Good evening and welcome to Turf Moor for our game against Norwich City.

We’re all set for a night of football under the lights here this evening, as we kick on with five big games of the season remaining.

I was thrilled with the win over Coventry City last Saturday and Tuesday night saw us pick up another point on the road at Derby County. It was a battle at Pride Park, and they made it difficult for us. However, we dug in, gained another point, and secured our 29th clean sheet of the campaign.

The games come thick and fast in this league and tonight we face a different challenge in Norwich City. I’m proud of how the team have stood up to the contests we’ve faced so far this season and tonight we have the opportunity to put on a positive performance in front of you, our home fans, as we aim for three points.

This evening’s game is our annual Community Day fixture, a special occasion in which we celebrate the work of our official charity Burnley FC in the Community.

I’m always blown away by the impact and wide range of projects the community department deliver across areas including education, health and wellbeing, youth engagement and of course football.

This year, the charity are celebrating their primary school STEM programme, ‘All Systems Go.’ STEM aims to raise aspirations in science, technology, engineering, and maths, showing young children in Burnley that they can make successful careers in STEM and that there really is no limit.

There will be lots of Community Day activities to enjoy in the Rapidz Fan Zone including facepainting and the ‘STEM Den,’ an immersive classroom that has kindly been donated to the charity by local business Gener8.

The players will also be showing their support warming up in branded BFCitC t-shirts and there will be a bucket collection and foodbank donation collection around the stadium ahead of kick-off. So, please do check out the activities and if you can make any monetary or food contributions, we are extremely grateful.

Following two away games in quick succession I’m delighted to be back on home turf this evening.

Our record at home has been nothing short of remarkable throughout the campaign so far and I’m hoping we can continue that tonight.

Your support really does make a difference and at the final stretch with five games to go it’s going to be needed more than ever. We’re in this together Clarets.
