Good afternoon and welcome to Turf Moor for today’s game against Luton Town.

It’s been quite some time since we’ve had a 3pm kick-off on home turf so I’m delighted that we can all be here this afternoon.

Tuesday night saw us secure an important three points at Cardiff City. It was a battling performance, certainly in the second half and I thought we showed a good response to last weekend’s defeat in the cup at Preston North End.

Congratulations to Maxime Estève for netting his first goal for the Club, what he jokingly added afterwards could be a Goal of the Season contender. Maybe Maxime!

I’m hoping that we can bring the positives from the win and the resilient display into this afternoon’s encounter.

Today is International Women’s Day and to celebrate our fixture is dedicated to Her Game Too.

I’ve spoken passionately about this subject and pledged my commitment to promoting inclusivity and female empowerment in sport. They are areas of vital importance for us as a football club. We’ve introduced initiatives such as Safeguarding Stewards at home games, invested in our women’s team and reached out to female season ticket holders, to gauge their thoughts and experiences of a matchday and find out where we can make improvements.

To promote our collaboration with Her Game Too, in today’s matchday programme and across our platforms we’ve been sharing the stories of female staff members from various departments at the Club, to showcase the range of opportunities.

Charlotte Rigby, Her Game Too Ambassador for Burnley and member of the Fan Advisory Board, and Josh Laurent have also spoke openly about how important it is to be involved in a Club that is truly One Club for All.

Head of Women’s Football Lola Ogunbote is joining Phil Bird on co-comms this afternoon and the activities will continue tomorrow when the women’s team face Nottingham Forest Women at Leyland in a big game at the top end of the league table.

Burnley season ticket holders can gain free entry to the women’s game by presenting their season card at the turnstiles and non-season ticket holders are priced at £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.

Whilst today’s dedicated matchday is important to raise awareness, as a Club we strive to work hard every day to champion gender equality and ensure Turf Moor is an inclusive, supportive environment for everybody.
