Good afternoon and welcome to Turf Moor for today’s game against Chelsea.
Tuesday evening saw us secure our first win of the Premier League season against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.
I’m delighted for Vincent, his staff and the squad, to see all the hard work pay off with a result on the night. I echo Vincent’s words following our previous games that performances have been positive and our young side have shown great signs against top quality opposition.
This weekend is the Premier League’s designated No Room for Racism fixture and at Burnley Football Club we are proud to support such an important campaign. No Room for Racism aims to highlight the league and clubs’ ongoing commitment to tackling discrimination and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion across all areas of the game.
You will see the No Room for Racism branding and assets throughout the stadium this afternoon and players from our men’s first team, academy and women’s team will be wearing branded warm up t-shirts ahead of all of their fixtures.
In addition to the various activities in support, we are passionate about ensuring that Burnley FC is One Club for All and that everybody feels welcome at Turf Moor.
We urge any supporters who hear or experience any discriminatory language or behaviour which can include homophobia, sexism, and racism to contact us on the Respect line on 66777 or via the dedicated Kick It Out App.
We have a great opportunity this afternoon to keep building and moving in the right direction. We all have a part to play, our support both home and away helps give Vincent and the players that extra boost - so, let’s come out today and make sure they hear us.
Enjoy the game. UTC!
