12/08/2024 - Luton Town 1 - 4 Burnley (Kenilworth Road)

The Clarets kicked off the 2024/25 campaign in fine fashion, after blowing away Luton Town at Kenilworth Road with four goals in a convincing victory against the Hatters.

Josh Brownhill opened the scoring for Burnley with just six minutes on the clock after latching onto Burnley debutant Lucas Pires' through ball, before doubling the lead half-an-hour later through Wilson Odobert's calm and collected finish.

Luton did pull a goal back just before the hour mark through Tahith Chong, but Burnley responded well, as Dara O'Shea glanced home a header into the bottom corner to double the lead once again with 20 minutes to play.

There was time for a fourth of the night when Vitinho struck home the final goal of the game with an excellent finish past Thomas Kaminski.

17/08/2024 - Burnley 5 - 0 Cardiff City (Turf Moor)

A five-star showing from Burnley saw Scott Parker’s side seal a second consecutive win in the Sky Bet Championship following a thumping 5-0 victory over Cardiff City in the first home game of the season.

The Clarets were gifted an early opener as Ethan Horvath mistimed a pass-back and saw the ball hit the back of his own net, before the home side added a second goal through Luca Koleosho's strike.

Five minutes into the second-half, Burnley then had their third of the afternoon when Josh Brownhill latched onto a ball through the City defence and slotted home past Horvath.

Substitute Zeki Amdouni then smashed in a fourth from range with two minutes left, before another substitute in Johann Berg Gudmundsson finished the scoring off with a fifth in stoppage time.

24/08/2024 - Sunderland 1 - 0 Burnley (Stadium of Light)

Burnley suffered their first defeat of the 2024/25 campaign with a 1-0 loss at the Stadium of Light to Sunderland, in what would turn out to be only one of their two losses all season in the Championship.

In a narrow contest in the North East with minimal chances created in either box, Romaine Mundle’s 26th minute strike proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Next up for Parker's side was a Carabao Cup trip to Molineux to face Wolves in the second round.

28/08/2024 - Wolves 2 - 0 Burnley (Molineux)

Burnley’s 2-0 defeat to Premier League opposition Wolves in the Carabao Cup saw Parker's side exit the competition in the second round.

In a very much changed XI, with debuts handed to new signings Joe Worrall, Bashir Humphreys and Hannibal and first team debuts as substitutes for youngsters Tommy McDermott and Will Hugill, the Clarets were edged out by the Midlands side.

Although goalkeeper Vaclav Hladký made a handful of terrific saves on the night, goals either side of half-time from striker Goncalo Guedes proved to be the difference against the Wanderers.

31/08/2024 - Burnley 1 - 1 Blackburn Rovers (Turf Moor)

Burnley's unbeaten record against Blackburn Rovers was extended to 10 consecutive matches in the first derby of the season, as the sides battled out a 1-1 draw in the Turf Moor sun.

After signing just the day before, both Josh Laurent and Jaidon Anthony were named in the starting XI, with the latter making an instant impact on his Clarets debut.

The winger teed up Lyle Foster with a peach of a cross to open the scoring in the 10th minute with a pinpoint header from close range, before Andreas Weimann struck home an equaliser midway through the first half.

Despite the Clarets dominating the majority of the derby and pushing for a second goal, the visitors defended resiliently to deny Burnley a winner.
