The Northern Premier Division of The FA Women’s National League continues this Sunday, with Burnley FC Women welcoming visitors Loughborough Lightning.

Burnley enter the game on the back of three consecutive wins. The Clarets enjoyed a thrilling 4-0 win over league rivals Huddersfield Town Women in their last home outing at the beginning of September, followed by consecutive wins over Hull City Ladies in the League Cup and last weekend in the league.

Forwards Evie Priestley and Courtney Willis, who between them have netted ten goals so far this season, increased their goals tally, taking up two places in the league's current top goal scorers table.

Loughborough Lightning meanwhile, beat Doncaster Rovers Belles, of the FA Women's National League Division One Midlands, in the League Cup, but were defeated in their last two league games against Stoke City Women and West Bromwich Albion Women.

Burnley FC Women Manager, Matt Bee said: "We have been on a good run of results over the past few weeks, and it has been good to see the group retain a consistent mindset to how they approach everything. I have been pleased with the work we have done on the training pitch and that has been reflected in the on-pitch performances on matchdays. Credit to the players for applying the game plan and transferring the training work into the Sunday games.

"Things change quickly in football, and we have had a good upturn recently however we know that we have to remain focused on every challenge and today is no different. Loughborough are stronger than they have ever been, and we will need to have a strong collective performance in order to achieve a positive result."
