Burnley continued their fine form in the Sky Bet Championship with a convincing 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town at Turf Moor.
Goals from Ashley Barnes, Josh Brownhill, Connor Roberts and Michael Obafemi capped off a fine display in front of a sell-out crowd and extended the Clarets' unbeaten league run to 14 matches.
Manager Vincent Kompany made three changes to the side that drew 1-1 with Millwall on Tuesday night.
Jordan Beyer returned to the side after missing the previous three games through injury, replacing Ameen Al-Dakhil in defence.
Meanwhile, Vitinho and Scott Twine made way for Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Nathan Tella in attack.
First Half
After a bright start, it took the Clarets just seven minutes to unlock the Terriers defence as Zaroury’s perfect ball into the area was flicked on by Barnes which beat Bilokapic and found the back of the net.
Burnley were cruising and doubled their lead just 10 minutes later when Ekdal threaded a through ball into the box for Gudmundsson, who took it well past Bilokapic and teed up Roberts to fire in from close range.
Beyer then tried to get in on the act and raced towards goal before rifling an effort from 25-yards out into the hands of Bilokapic.
But the Clarets did have a third goal with just half an hour played in East Lancashire, as Gudmundsson grabbed his second assist of the game this time picking out Brownhill with a sweet pass into the area to steer it home past the Huddersfield ‘keeper.
Maatsen had a great opportunity to add a fourth before the break after latching onto a wonderful ball over the top from Ekdal but the Dutchman’s strike sailed just wide of the post.
Then in first half stoppage time Cullen saw his drilled effort fizz narrowly wide of the bottom corner.
Second Half
Huddersfield’s first shot on target came five minutes into the second half as Danny Ward’s strike was tipped over the bar by Muric.
The Clarets were then dealt a blow just before the hour mark when Maatsen was forced off through injury following a collision with Hungbo.
When play resumed following a lengthy stoppage as Maatsen received treatment, Tella struck an effort just wide of the post with a fierce shot from inside the box.
Kompany introduced the attacking duo of Lyle Foster and Obafemi with 20 minutes to play and the latter grabbed his second goal in Claret and Blue and Burnley's fourth of the afternoon to seal the victory.
