Part Two of this week’s ‘Loan Watch’
14 players are currently on loan deals away from the Club, across various leagues and countries, including the Danish Superliga, Scottish Premiership and German Bundesliga.
This tally includes players from the first team, U21s and U18s and below is a round up of how the first seven players, in alphabetical order, fared in this week’s fixtures.
Luke McNally (Stoke City)
There was no game for McNally’s Potters this week due to the international break starting following their 2-0 loss at home to Preston North End.
Alex Neil’s side are currently placed 16th in the Sky Bet Championship and will return to action when they travel to Carrow Road to take on Norwich City on Saturday.
This week’s game(s): SAT – Norwich City (A)
Marcel Lewis (Dundee)
Lewis made the move North on deadline day, joining The Dee on loan until January, but is yet to feature for the Scottish side, due to the ongoing international break.
The winger missed out on their game against St. Johnstone one day after he made the move, and, in turn, a chance to face Clarets teammate Dara Costelloe.
Lewis will hope to make his debut when the Dee travel to Celtic Park to face league leaders Celtic on Saturday.
This week’s game(s): SAT – Celtic (A)
Michael Mellon (Morecambe)
After a game in which Mellon scored once more, the Shrimps also did not play this week due to the international break, following call-ups for players in their side.
Morecambe are currently placed 15th in Sky Bet League Two and Derek Adams’ side face Gillingham at Priestfield Stadium on their return to action on Saturday.
This week’s game(s): SAT – Gillingham (A)
Owen Dodgson (Barnsley)
Dodgson’s Barnsley did not feature this week, as international call-ups for the opposition postponed their game against Portsmouth, which was due to take place last weekend.
After scoring in the Tykes previous game, the defender will look to continue that form when they return to action at Oakwell, as they host Burton Albion this Saturday.
This week’s game(s): SAT – Burton Albion (H)
Sam Waller (Hyde United)
Waller is one of two players currently on loan with the Tigers, with defender Jack Turner being the other.
Hyde faced Lancaster City, a game in which Waller started, on Saturday but unfortunately fell to a 3-0 defeat at the Project Solar Stadium.
Waller’s loan side are next in action in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round against Albion Sports at Ewen Fields this Saturday.
This week’s game(s): SAT – Albion Rovers (H)
Scott Twine (Hull City)
The Tigers were another side who did not play during the past week due to the ongoing international break, so Twine did not feature.
Hull currently sit in the play off places in the Sky Bet Championship as they are sixth, and face Coventry City on Friday night at the MKM Stadium.
This week’s game(s): FRI – Coventry City (H)
Wout Weghorst (TSG Hoffenheim)
The international break meant that Weghorst’s Hoffenheim did not have a game in the past week, but the Dutch forward did feature for his national side.
The 31-year-old enjoyed a successful week with the Netherlands, netting twice, with one goal against Greece and another against the Republic of Ireland.
His German loan side, who sit sixth in the league, return to action on Saturday, with a trip to 1. FC Köln in the Bundesliga.
This week’s game(s): SAT - 1. FC Köln (A)
