Burnley FC recently asked supporters to vote for the two charity partners the Clarets will support for the 2022/23 season.

From the four nominated charities, we are pleased to announce that the two charities who received the most votes from supporters are Andy’s Man Club and the Veterans’ Foundation.

Andy’s Man Club are a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online.

The charity was set up by the family of Andrew Roberts, who sadly took his own life aged 23 in early 2016. The organisation aims to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and help men through the power of conversation, delivering over 100 free support groups nationwide, which take place every Monday from 7pm.

The Veterans’ Foundation are one of the country’s fastest-growing military charities, funding hundreds of life-changing and life-saving projects. Working with smaller charities and charitable organisations across the UK, the organisation aims to provide a better life for the Armed Forces family who are in need, through mental health provision and support for ex-service men and women who battle PTSD.

As charity partners the Club will work with both charities throughout the course of the season, supporting their fundraising through joint initiatives and a matchday activation at a Turf Moor home game.

Fan Experience Manager, Harriet Harbidge said: “We received a fantastic response from supporters when asked to vote for the Club’s charity partners for the 2022/23 season. It was great to have their input as it’s important to us to involve fans in a variety of Club initiatives.

“Now that we have our chosen charities, we’re looking forward to working closely together and hopefully over the course of the season help them to raise both vital funds and awareness of the incredible work they are carrying out.

“I also want to take this opportunity to say that the four charities that made the shortlist do fantastic work both locally and nationally and everybody at Burnley FC wishes them all the best in their fundraising endeavours.”
