Burnley Football Club can confirm that both Jack Cork and Johann Berg Gudmundsson will leave the club when their contracts expire in the summer.
Jack has been a great servant to this football club, in his first spells on loan and then joining permanently from Swansea City in 2017, making 266 appearances.
He’s also shared many magical moments including scoring a memorable goal in our European campaign at Turf Moor and against our neighbours in the EFL Cup. Most recently, lifting the Championship trophy last season as captain. In his time with the club, Jack also played for England and at the Olympics for Great Britain.
In an emotional chat to Clarets+ he wanted to pay tribute to the fans : “The club has been such a big part of my life for 14 years now. Both my kids are Burnley fans. It will always be a club that we’re close to. It’s gone so fast it’s been some journey.”
“I just want to say a massive thank you to the fans. They’ve been amazing to me since I’ve been here. They’ve made me feel at home, made me feel so welcome from the start. Everyone at the club has been amazing with us.”
“I’m looking forward to the next adventure but I don’t know how I’ll feel on Sunday. It’ll be nice to get to say goodbye to everyone. Everyone has been so good to us on the journey.”

Johann joined Burnley from Charlton in 2016, currently the longest serving player at Turf Moor, and has played over 200 times for the Clarets.
'The Iceman' has been an integral part of the progression of this team and in his time at Burnley, he has also represented Iceland in the Euros and World Cup.
He told Clarets+ he’ll be sad to go: “It’s been a massive part of my career and I’ve enjoyed every single year. To play the last game at Turf Moor will mean a lot to me. I’m really going to miss this club.”
“It’s been the best time of my football time for sure. To be part of the history we’ve created over the last few years has been incredible. I really hope this club goes back to the Premier League because, in my mind, they should be there.”
Everyone at this football club thanks Jack and Johann for their contributions and commitment over the years and wish them all the very best for their futures.
Burnley can also confirm talks are continuing regarding the contracts of Jay Rodriguez and Charlie Taylor.
More news regarding the futures of the rest of the current squad will be announced accordingly.
