Sonne joined the Clarets from Danish side Silkeborg on New Year's Eve 2024, becoming Scott Parker's first signing of the January window on a four-and-a-half-year deal. Born in Denmark, the right-back began his professional career at HB Køge before joining Silkeborg in 2021, where he made close to 100 appearances and scored the only goal of the 2024 Danish Cup final to seal the club's second cup triumph. Sonne made his Burnley debut in a 3-1 FA Cup win over Reading in January 2025 and featured during the run-in as the Clarets secured promotion back to the Premier League. Danish-born but eligible through his maternal grandmother, he represents Peru at international level and was part of their squad at the 2024 Copa América.
