Beyer initially joined Burnley from Borussia Mönchengladbach in September 2022 signing on a season-long loan, before making the move permanent in May 2023. Beyer was born in Kempen and started his career at hometown Club DJK-SV Thomasstadt Kempen before moving to Fortuna Düsseldorf at U13-level and eventually on to Mönchengladbach as an U17. Going through the ranks, the defender featured for the U19s and went on to be promoted up into the first-team for the 2018/19 campaign. Beyer’s senior debut came in the first round of the DFB-Pokal, an 11-1 victory against BSC Hastedt. Signing a first professional contract soon after, he appeared for both the first-team and second team in the fourth-tier – Regionalliga West – throughout that inaugural senior season. After racking up more Bundesliga appearances in the first half of the following campaign, Beyer was loaned out to Hamburg SV in the German second division. The centre-back hade made seven appearances in the starting 11 prior to the season being curtailed due to the COVID Pandemic, and remained in the side when the season eventually restarted in May 2020. While making 19 appearances between U16 and U21 level internationally by the time he became a Claret, Beyer – 22 - continued to make appearances for Mönchengladbach, accumulating 36 in total for Die Fohlen. Beyer made his Burnley debut against Preston North End in September 2022 and then made his first start for the Club a few days later in a 2-1 win against Bristol City. Tallying up 35 appearances in his first season at Turf Moor and helping Vincent Kompany's side secure the league title and promotion to the Premier League, Beyer signed permanently in May penning a four-year deal. Beyer made his Premier League debut against Manchester City in the first game of the season, but an injury picked up at Aston Villa just after Christmas ruled out the defender for the remainder of a frustrating campaign for the German.
