Burnley's U23 side put their unbeaten record on the line at Leeds United this evening (Monday), at Elland Road.
The Development Squad are yet to taste defeat in all competitions (12 matches), after beating Barnsley 2-1 last week at Curzon Ashton, thanks to a Lewis Richardson brace.
And right-back Ryan Cooney believes tonight is a good opportunity for the team to perform and claim another victory in the Professional Development League, at the hands of eighth placed Leeds.
Cooney said: “I think it’s going to be a tough game; Leeds are a good side at all levels.
“Under the lights at Elland Road adds that little bit of edge to the game, but it gives the whole group an opportunity to show ourselves and what we are about and why we are still unbeaten.
“Sometimes Leeds do play a few first team players, so if they do that again it will be a good test for us all and for us to compete.
“It showed last Monday against Barnsley, we got put in a bit of a test to keep hold of the lead late on and we did.
“So, every week different teams give us new challenge. We just have to be at our best again and aim for the all-important three points.”
When the two sides met last season, the spoils were shared in a four-goal thriller, as goals from Oliver Younger and Dwight McNeil secured a point for Steve Stone’s side in a 2-2 draw.
Tonight's match kicks off at 7pm at Elland Road and live updates will be available on Twitter (@Burnleyofficial) followed by report and reaction.
