Barry Kilby Prostate Cancer Appeal (BKPCA)
The BKPCA, which has recently been granted official charity status, continues to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer and the importance of testing for prostate cancer in men. Research has shown that men sometimes are reluctant to visit a doctor, which is why the BKPCA created the screeing events where men can come down to their football club and be tested.
The charity now sets up screening events across the UK to provide a place where men can feel comfortable coming along to be tested.
The BKPCA screening events have now tested thousands of men over the past two years and provided the necessary information for those in danger to seek necessary life saving treatment.
The next screening event is here at Turf Moor on 1st June, in the James Hargreaves Suite, 10am - 1pm. Screenings are aimed at men aged 45 or above, and no appointment is needed.
