The Under-23s return to action this afternoon (Monday) when they face Sheffield Wednesday at Curzon Ashton (2pm).
The Professional Development League has resumed following the Christmas break with four fixtures today in the northern group.
The Clarets face the Owls in the first of two games this week, with a trip to Barnsley to follow on Saturday.
And Steve Stone’s side will be looking to pick up where they left off before the break with a 3-1 win at Sheffield United.
A repeat of the win Burnley enjoyed at Wednesday in October – when Dan Agyei scored twice and Tinashe Chakwana and Tunde Bayode were also on target in a 4-2 victory – will lift the Clarets level on points with Birmingham City at the top of the table.
However, the Blues, who beat Barnsley 3-0 on Saturday, have a better goal difference which is likely to keep them clear of Burnley and Leeds United, who go to Hull City this evening.
Eighth-placed Wednesday - managed by former Ipswich Town and barnsley full-back Neil Thompson - beat Hull City in their last game before the break - their only six in six games.
Team news, Twitter up-dates and full match coverage will be available from this afternoon's game.
