Burnley FC Women are delighted to welcome Blackburn Rovers Ladies to home ground Padiham FC for the semi-final of the Lancashire FA Women’s Challenge Cup.
The tie is a fantastic opportunity for the Clarets to play Rovers, a side who have enjoyed a rise to the pinnacle of women's football since their formation in 1991.
Burnley FC Women have been on a euphoric journey since being taken under the wing of Burnley FC in the Community in 2017.
During the 2017/18 season they enjoyed their most successful season on record with a historic Women's FA Cup run, which saw them qualify for the third round proper for the first time in their history.
The Clarets also won promotion in the 2017/18 season and currently sit six-points clear at the top of the FA Women’s National League Division 1 North, one division below their East Lancashire rivals who lead the FA Women's National League North, a league in the third-tier in the women's football pyramid in England.
Blackburn are also the most successful team in the Lancashire FA Women's Challenge Cup competition, having lifted the cup for the twelfth time in the 2017/18 season.
Please note an increased crowd is expected on the day, so arrive early to ensure entry into the ground.
The match is on Sunday 20th January, kick-off is 2pm at Padiham FC’s Arbories Memorial Sports Ground, Lancashire, BB12 8LE.
Entrance is £3 for adults and £1 for under 16s, cash turnstiles only on the day.
