Supporter Survey: Getting To Know You Better

20 February 2019

Burnley Football Club is committed to getting to know our supporters.

As a result of this we are encouraging fans to complete our third, annual supporter survey.
The information you provide will allow the club to implement specific programmes in order to address any under-represented groups within its supporter base.
Burnley FC is committed to preventing discrimination within all areas of its operation and within its stadium, providing an environment free from abuse, harassment, bullying and victimisation.
The club is committed to developing positive policies to promote equal opportunities and prohibiting unlawful or unfair discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion and belief, sex or sexual orientation.
In order to ensure that these policies are being carried out, and as part of our ongoing commitment towards achieving equality in everything we do, the club is monitoring the diversity of its staff, fans and participants that engage with Burnley FC in the Community (the club’s official charity).
Last year the supporter survey told us:
•  In 2017/18 only 21% of supporters surveyed were female. This was a reduction of 4% when compared to 2016/17 when 25% of respondents were female.
•  There was a slight increase in responses from BAME supporters. 5% of responses were from BAME supporters in 2017/2018 compared to 4% of respondents in 2016/17.
•  3% of supporters identified as lesbian, gay or bisexual, this figure did not have significant change when compared to data collected in 2016/17.
•  In 2017/18 12% of supporters surveyed identified themselves as having either a disability or impairment. This is a 4% increase when compared to data captured in 2016/17.
As a result of this data, this year we have set up a new Inclusion Advisory Group and LGBT Supporters Group.
We will be working with these groups over the coming seasons to address any issues faced by under-represented groups in our supporter base.
Supporters have until 5pm on Friday, 22nd February to complete the survey which will take only three minutes of your time!
This survey can be completed anonymously. However supporters that complete their full name and email address will be entered into a prize draw to win a signed football!
The winner will be contacted directly on Monday, 4th March.
