Preview: Burnley U18s v Sheffield United U18s

Young Clarets host Sheffield United

8 February 2019

Tony Philliskirk’s side will be looking to build on their last outing the Professional Development League, where the youngsters ran out 4-0 winners away at Crewe.

The Clarets who remain unbeaten in 2019, after two wins and a draw, host Sheffield united in the U18 PDL.

Meanwhile, the Blades have not won a game in their opening three fixtures of the new year, after a draw and two defeats.

When the two sides met back in September, United took all three points in a 1-0 win at their training ground.

Striker Michael Fowler will be looking to continue his fine form, as the former-Sunderland forward has hit a brace in his last three games for the Clarets.

A win would see Philliskirk’s side move up to third, depending on Nottingham Forest’s result.

And the Clarets currently sit a place above United in fifth, who do have three games in hand over Burnley.

The match kicks off at 11:00am at the Barnfield Training Centre, report and reaction will be online shortly after the match.
