PREVIEW: Bolton U23s v Burnley U23s

Clarets back on league duty and looking to go second with 'derby' win

11 February 2019

The Clarets make a quick return to action with a trip to Bolton in the U23 Professional Development League tonight (Monday).

Steve Stone’s side kept their Premier League Cup hopes intact with a 0-0 draw against Liverpool last Friday.

And it’s now back to league duty and the chance to go second in the northern group with a win at the Lancashire FA County Ground in Leyland (KO 7pm).

Stone is likely to make a couple of changes to the side that took an important point off Liverpool as he gives a number of young players some valuable game time.

And the Under-23s boss is also having to manage the workload with three games in eight days, including a trip to Hull City to follow on Friday night.

Fifth-placed Bolton have lost their last two league games but would go above the Clarets if they secure an 11th league win of the campaign this evening.

Burnley won an eventful first meeting between the sides last September when Dwight McNeil and Dan Agyei scored in a 2-0 win which saw the Clarets finish with nine men and Bolton with 10.

Admission to this evening's game is £3 for adults, £1 for concessions.
