Derby clash for title-chasing women

Burnley host Bolton Wanderers in Wednesday night football

12 February 2019

Burnley FC Women continue their promotion push with a local derby at home to Bolton Wanderers Ladies on Wednesday night.

The Clarets' Women are currently on a 12-match unbeaten run to lead the way at the top of the FA Women’s National League Division 1 North as they seek a second successive promotion.

Burnley FC Women First Team Manager, Matt Bee said: “The team have shown great character in what have been tough fixtures since Christmas and the discipline and structure has allowed us to get on the right side of results.

“We continue to take it one game at a time. No game is more or less important at this level and if you drop your standards even a fraction you can get punished.”

“We have a belief in how we operate, and we need to show our quality again on Wednesday night.”

Bolton - unbeaten in their last three league games - are currently eighth in the table but have played four games fewer than the Clarets.

Wednesday night's game takes place at the Clarets' regular home venue of Padiham FC’s Ruby Civil Arena, 16 Well Street, Padiham, Burnley, BB12 8LE.

Kick-off is 7.45pm with entrance £2 for adults and free for children.
