Preview: Crystal Palace U18s v Burnley U18s

Young Clarets travel to Crystal Palace this weekend

31 August 2019

Tony Philliskirk's side take on Crystal Palace today (Saturday) in the U18 Professional Development League.

The Clarets will be looking to take their momentum from last week's 2-1 victory over Cardiff City into their match against an unbeaten Palace, at Hemel Hempstead Town's Vauxhall Road Stadium.

In-form striker Joe McGlynn struck the winner last weekend for Philliskirk's side and grabbed another in the Clarets Cup competition on Tuesday in a 3-1 over Sheffield Wednesday, before snatching an equaliser for the U23s in a friendly against Huddersfield Town on Thursday.

Palace won their opening fixture 4-0 away to Colchester United, before drawing 0-0 in their following two fixtures against Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest.

When the two sides met last season the match finished 2-2 at Palace's training ground, in March earlier this year.

Burnley will be without the second-year trio of Udoka Chima, Jayden Major and Rhys Fenlon, as they all left the club last week on work experience loans.

The game kicks off at 11:00am at Vauxhall Road (Hemel Hempstead Town FC).

Live updates of the match will be avaliable throughout on Twitter (@Burnleyofficial), followed by a report and reaction.
