James Tarkowski insists the Clarets have the right attributes to battle their way to Premier League safety.
Last weekend’s victory over Wolves at Turf Moor opened up a valuable five-point cushion between Burnley and the relegation places.
And England defender Tarkowski felt that display was a welcome return to the dogged performances that typify a determination to hold onto their Premier league place.
He said: “We know we can’t outplay every team, but we can out-work and out-fight them and that’s a typical Burnley performance that you’ll see throughout most games.
“It doesn’t always work but when it does, we are a tough team to play against, and if you look at the upcoming games and how tight it is down there, the Wolves win was massive.
“We know we still need a few more points on the board, but that win has given us renewed confidence and that, along with hard work, togetherness and showing the right attitude every week, will be vital between now and the end of the season.”
Burnley head to Bournemouth this weekend, looking to build on that victory and keep the pressure on those around them in the table.
The Cherries, meanwhile, sit five points clear of the Clarets, close to guaranteeing themselves a fifth successive season in the top flight.
“We know Bournemouth won’t get complacent, thinking their job is done,” added Tarkowski.
“They will know the teams below them are still picking up points, so I am sure they will turn up at the weekend looking for a big result themselves.”
