The Clarets complete their home programme in the U18 Professional Development League when they host Queens Park Rangers this morning (Tuesday).
Tony Philliskirk’s side got back to winning ways thanks to a last-minute winner from skipper Chris Conn-Clarke against Bristol City last Saturday.
A mid-week defeat to Birmingham City a week ago remains Burnley’s only league defeat since the start of December.
But even maximum points in their final two games is unlikely to see them grab a top-two finish and a play-off spot, with Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday seemingly out of reach thanks to their superior goal differences.
However, third place is still on the cards if Burnley can beat QPR and then match Nottingham Forest’s result in the final round of games.
QPR are fourth in the southern group, but have lost their last two fixtures.
When the two sides met in the 2017/18 season, the Clarets earned a 2-0 away win thanks to goals from Leighton Egan and Tristan Jumeau.
Tuesday’s fixture kicks off at 11:00am at the Barnfield Training Centre, with the Clarets then ending their campaign at Cardiff City on Saturday.
