The youth team travel to Sheffield Wednesday this weekend, in the U18 Professional Development League.
The Clarets suffered their first defeat in the league since September 17th, last weekend against Bolton and the loss also ended the youngsters’ 100% home record.
Burnley currently sit third in the table, meanwhile, Wednesday lead the league on 24 points.
And the Yorkshire side have only lost once this season, in a 3-1 defeat to Leeds United.
John Townson admitted his side are in for a tough test, but believes his side have the strength to give a good performance.
He said: “They are a good side, there are no doubts about that, but I think in the past couple games away from home against good sides, we have shown we can put up a good performance and come away with something from it.
“Whether we are playing top of the league or bottom of the league, we will always go into the match with the same mindset and try and stick close to our game plan.
“We have a fully fit squad for the weekend, but the loan lads will be unavailable and with their respective clubs”.
When the two sides met last season, Jordan Cropper hit a hat-trick to secure a 3-1 win at the Barnfield Training Centre.
In the reverse fixture, the two sides shared the points in a 2-2 draw at the Middlewood Training Ground.
