The Clarets will play at home to League One side Barnsley in the third round of the FA Cup.
Monday night’s draw at Stamford Bridge – home of holders Chelsea – paired the clubs together in the competition for only the third time.
The Clarets won the first meeting, 2-0 at Turf Moor in February, 1911, before Barnsley knocked Burnley out in round three with a 1-0 victory at Oakwell in 2013 in manager Sean Dyche’s first cup tie as Burnley boss.
The Tykes – currently fifth in League One – have reached round three this time around thanks to a 4-0 win over Notts County and a 4-2 win at Southend United last Saturday.
The draw handed Burnley a home tie for the first time since a 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham Hotspur in 2015, with the third-round ties scheduled to be played around the weekend of Saturday, 5 January.
Confirmation of the date and ticket details will follow in due course.
