Valiant Move for Anderson

Clarets' defender joins Port Vale on loan

31 August 2017

Tom Anderson has joined Port Vale on loan for the rest of the season.

The Clarets’ defender moves to the League Two club for the chance to play regular first-team football.

Anderson was involved in the Clarets’ pre-season programme and travelled with the senior squad in the opening weeks of the Premier League campaign.

But boss Sean Dyche has allowed the 23-year-old, who came up through the youth ranks at Turf Moor, to move to Vale Park to add to his career CV.

Anderson has had previous loan spells in the Football League with Chesterfield and Carlisle United, as well as playing National League football on loan at Lincoln City, Halifax Town, Hyde and Barrow.

Meanwhile, Development Squad midfielder Robbie Leitch, 19, has been released from the remainder of his contract at Turf Moor.
