Cooke Adds New Ingredient To Scouting Network

13 November 2014

Burnley have added to their recruitment network by appointing former Everton and Manchester United scout Robbie Cooke.

Cooke (pictured above), who spent 11 years working alongside David Moyes at Goodison Park and then followed the Scot to Old Trafford, takes up the post of UK and International Scout with immediate effect.

The former Peterborough and Brentford striker, 57, began his coaching career at Preston North End under Moyes.

Cooke will be based in Cambridgeshire, where he will work as part of the scouting network as the club expands into new markets.

The Clarets have also appointed Ben Mackriell as Technical Scout, again with immediate effect. Ben previously held the role at Reading FC.

Burnley FC Chief Executive Lee Hoos said: “We welcome Robbie and Ben to the club.

“Our knowledge of additional, potential markets and the use of analytics are both vitally important to ensure we are competitive.

“These are areas of the off-pitch infrastructure that we will look to grow and improve and are critical to the success of the club.”
