Winger back on the scoresheet in FA Cup win

Anass Zaroury increased his goal scoring tally to nine in all competitions, following his FA Cup brace against AFC Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking after the game, he described his delight at the team's performance and his two goal contribution.

“It felt really good, it’s always a pleasure to score. Especially now, in the FA Cup, my first game so it was good.”

Whilst securing a place in the next round of the competition, the afternoon also gave the squad the chance to test themselves against higher league opposition.

“Yes, it was also a challenge for us to show what we can do in the Championship, against teams in the Premier League, so I think we did a good job today.”

It's been some miles for the Clarets squad and the travelling fans, with trips to Swansea and Bournemouth within a week.

“Of course, and we have to stick together. It’s like family time, you know, going every time together. Take planes to go and play games and recover all together, so yes, we did it good.”

The game saw Manuel Benson net a brace too, with the Bournemouth defence up against a strong attacking Clarets side, who top the Championship table for goals so far this season.

Talking of linking up with his teammates, Zaroury added: “I really like playing with Barnsey and with Jay Rodriguez if he plays. They are good strikers who can always help the wingers to make their dribbles, the one on ones so, yeah, he did a really good job today.”

As always, the travelling Clarets got behind the winger and the squad at the Vitality Stadium too.

“Like always, they are lovely, always singing my song, I really like it! It’s good to play with their support.”
