Burnley Football Club are pleased to confirm the signing of Louanne Worsey on loan from Birmingham City Women until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Following a successful spell in tier three last season, the striker now links up with Clarets Head Coach Rebecca Sawiuk and her squad.

“It feels good to be here and I’m really excited to get going with the girls,” Worsey said.

“The Club is going in a really good direction and that’s something I wanted to be a part of.

“My goal is to come in, make an impact and score as many goals as I can, with the aim of helping the team gain promotion to the Championship.”

Born and raised in Birmingham, Worsey joined her hometown club at the age of eight and has progressed through the ranks to sign her first professional contract in the summer of 2023.

She made her senior debut at the age of 16 in a Women’s Super League match with Reading in October 2021.

Now 19, the striker has made a combination of eight appearances across England’s top two divisions and spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

There she scored 14 goals in 22 appearances and came on as a substitute in both matches against Burnley.

Worsey also has experience on the international stage, representing England U19s four times in 2024.

After featuring in UEFA U19 Championship qualifiers against Switzerland and Portugal, she headed to the main tournament in July and earned further minutes against Lithuania and Serbia.

Head Coach Rebecca Sawiuk added: “Louanne is a real technician who wants to win and adds to the quality and depth we have in our squad.

"She’s a young player who has plenty of high quality experience internationally, within the Championship during her time with Birmingham, and in the FA Women's National League.

"I think that will enable her to hit the ground running and that is important for us as we enter the second half of the season."

Louanne will wear the number 36 during her time in Lancashire.
