Sean Dyche is hoping that work, rest and no play will provide the perfect pick-me-up for his battle-weary troops during their extended break.
The Clarets are entering a three-week gap between games, after signing off in style with Saturday’s eye-catching win away to high-flying Everton.
And Dyche and his staff have meticulously planned out the days, ahead of Easter Sunday’s trip to Southampton, in the hope of freshening up tired limbs and easing a chronic injury situation that has limited his options all season long.
“We have been stretched to the limit and had so many games, then all of a sudden we have three weeks off - which is not really helpful - but now they get a break,” said the Burnley boss.
“It’s a bizarre one. We did contact the Premier League and ask them to change a couple of fixtures and they chose not to, which hasn’t been helpful to us.
“We all know its extenuating circumstances, with what is going on in the world, so I am not going to cry it in too much, but it has been tough on these players.
“We will give them some down time, but it will be a working break too and we hope that the injuries we’ve had ease."

The Clarets have cast aside their injury woes to pick up five precious points from three tough games against Leicester City, Arsenal and Everton, since losing heavily at Spurs.
Striker Ashley Barnes, midfielder Jack Cork and left back Charlie Taylor were all sidelined going into the extended international break, while the manager connues to be cautious with the returning duo of Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Robbie Brady.
But with just one defeat in eight Premier League games, Dyche is happy at the way his side have responded to their latest challenge.
“To be fair we had two points after seven games, so I am really pleased with the return since then and some of the performances," added the Clarets boss.
"Now they can have a rest. We hope to get everyone injury free and we can get stronger again if we can do that.”
