Chris Wood is hoping the Clarets can create their own bit of luck this weekend, after being on the end of fine margins this season, as Sean Dyche's men host West Ham United at Turf Moor.
Wood has scored seven Premier League goals for Burnley against the Hammers, the most he has scpred against any other side.
And the New Zealand captain says the side will take any luck they can get, to climb out of the relegation zone and secure a second win of the season on Sunday.
But knows it won't come easy against a Hammers side, who sit fourth in the Premier League table and recently secured Europa League knockout qualification.
Wood said: “I think you create your own luck, putting the practice in on the training ground then hopefully on matchday it comes through.
“It would be nice for one to bounce off the back of someone and into the back of the net, but ultimately it’s about us working hard and being ready for Sunday.
“They’re a good side, they’re not where they are in the league for no reason, they have a good squad.
“It’s going to be tough, they have done well in Europe and got through to the knockout stages.
“We know they have some great players and can score goals, but some teams can find it tough to come to Turf Moor.
“We need to just make sure we do everything right and implement that and hopefully come out with the right result.”
The Clarets have scored 20 goals against the London side throughout the Premier League era, the most against any other side, with Wood grabbing seven of them.
And the Kiwi striker admits it would be 'lovely' to extend that run to eight goals for himself against the Hammers, but knows the most important thing is three points.
“Sometimes you have them teams where it just clicks, I’ll be hoping for another this weekend.
“To keep that record going would be lovely, so hopefully there is something there, but the most important thing on Sunday is putting on a performance and getting the win.
“To keep a clean-sheet and score a couple of goals would be amazing, we’ll have to see what happens." Said Wood.
