Burnley Women will aim to take three valuable league points when they face their Stoke City counterparts on Sunday afternoon.
Rebecca Sawiuk’s team are relishing a return to action, with the weather causing disruption to the fixture list in recent weeks.
In fact, this game is the first in two weeks for both the Clarets and the Potters.
Burnley’s last outing was the 3-0 Northern Premier Division of the Women’s National League defeat to Newcastle United.
New additions Emma Siddall and Monique Robinson made their debuts that afternoon, with Thea Paul also returning from injury.
Sawiuk and her coaching team will be able to call upon other new signings Abby Clarke and Paris Dalton for the first time this weekend, should they so wish. Stoke City were 4-1 victors the last time they took to the pitch, courtesy of a brace from Saffron Jordan and further goals from Arabella Suttie and Alice Higginbottom.
Marie Hourihan has overseen the team since the summer when she became the Club’s first full-time Head Coach alongside a coaching role within their Academy.
The Potters sit 7th in the table with 17 points from 12 matches.
The two teams are yet to play each other this season, but the Clarets were 7-2 victors when they clashed in April 2023.
Speaking earlier this week, Head Coach Rebecca Sawiuk said: "The mood in the group's been really positive this week.
"We're eager now to get back out on the pitch and showcase our abilities, after spending a lot of time looking at what we can improve on and building a few more patterns and detail."
Kick-off at Emerys Stadium (ST6 1QF) is 2pm and supporters are more than welcome to attend. Entry on the turnstiles is £3 for adults and £1 for juniors.
