Clarets head to Turf Moor in search of three points

Burnley Women finish their regular league season at Turf Moor this weekend, with Stoke City providing the opposition in BB1O.

The Clarets head into the match knowing that a 16th straight league victory will crown them champions of the FAWNL Northern Premier Division.

Stoke City are an established third tier side themselves and have enjoyed a productive 2025/26 campaign, sitting 4th in the table ahead of their last outing.

The Potters will be aiming to end a run of three straight league defeats, though, and were beaten by Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out.

How to watch

The match will take place at Turf Moor (BB10 4BX) and tickets can be purchased online HERE, over the phone on 01282 704718 or in person at the ticket office.

Men’s team season ticket holders can enter for free but will need to claim their complimentary match ticket via one of the methods listed above.

Non season ticket holders can purchase tickets via the same means at £5 for adults and £1 for under 14s.

The opposition

Stoke City underwent a period of change last summer, with Head Coach Sarah Richardson joining from Loughborough Lightning.

The Potters, who play their home games at Wellbeing Park, finished 3rd in this division and reached the final of the FAWNL Cup last term under the management of Marie Hourihan.

Richardson was part of the staff team that guided Loughborough to promotion, and spent seven years at Nottingham Forest prior to that.

After a mixed start to 2025/26 results wise, the Red and White Stripes enjoyed their best run of form between the end of November and early March.

During that time they went unbeaten in eight straight matches in all competitions, with seven of those results being victories.

As mentioned above, their last outing was a 3-1 home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Evie Priestley opened the scoring for the Potters that day but after Georgia Marshall restored parity in first-half stoppage-time, Charlotte Greengrass’ brace ensured the points would head to the Black Country.

Key players to look out for include captain Olivia Cook and top scorer Priestley, who has 11 goals to her name in all competitions this season.

Priestley is one of six former Clarets now plying their trade at Stoke, alongside Lucia Molinari, Abby Clarke, Bella Reidford, Dom Cooper, and Lucy Farrell.

“It’s a game we’re looking forward to.

“We had a bounce game last weekend just to keep the girls ticking over, and to make sure they’re flying heading into Sunday.

“They’ve all trained really well this week, and we’ve built a good squad here, particularly for this level.

“We’re expecting to win and we put that pressure on ourselves. Like I always say, we control our performances and how we go about things, and nothing will be any different on Sunday.

“If we can be really aggressive and on the front foot, against a very decent Stoke team, we’re confident we can get the result that we need.”

Matchday information

Supporters are encouraged to arrive at the stadium as early as possible, with bag checks in operation. Turnstiles open at 1pm and all spectator seating is located in the Bob Lord Stand.

The Rapidz Fan Zone is open from 12pm until kick-off, and entry is free for all match ticket holders.

Activities include inflatables, a petting zoo, and face painting. Vendors will also be selling candy floss and ice cream, with further refreshments available from the kiosk inside.

The Clarets Store opens at 10.30am and closes at 4.30pm, giving you the perfect opportunity to shop our kit and training wear sales.

Men's team season ticket holders are reminded that they cannot use this to gain entry to the stadium. A complimentary match ticket must be claimed ONLINE, over the phone on 01282 704718 or in person at the ticket office.

There is no spectator parking available at Turf Moor, and supporters are asked to be mindful of local residents when parking.
