It may be the men’s team’s international break, but you can still get your fix of Burnley action when our women’s team welcome Halifax to Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.

Ross Wallace and his players are edging ever closer to their goal of promotion following a 13th straight league victory over Derby County last week.

They certainly won’t be looking past Halifax, though, with the Yorkshire-based side providing stiff competition when these two teams met back in October.

It was 0-0 that day and Halifax will be keen to earn a result in Lancashire, and Rob Mitchell’s team are an established outfit at this level.

How to watch

The match will take place at Turf Moor (BB10 4BX) and tickets can be purchased online HERE, over the phone on 01282 704718 or in person at the ticket office.

Men’s team season ticket holders can enter for free but will need to claim their complimentary match ticket via one of the methods listed above.

Non-season ticket holders can purchase tickets via the same means at £5 for adults and £1 for under 14s.

The opposition

This is Halifax’s fifth straight season in the Northern Premier Division of the Women's National League, some of which were under their previous name of Brighouse Town.

Current Manager Rob Mitchell helped set the club up in 2013 and has played a key role in their success as an independent outfit ever since.

Mitchell’s side are currently 9th in the 12-team standings have claimed 15 points from their 19 outings to date.

They head into today’s game on the back of four straight defeats, the latest of which finished 4-1 to Liverpool Feds last weekend.

Players to look out for include Phoebe Hollin, who came through the youth ranks at Manchester United and has scored six goals in all competitions this term.

Macy Settle is at the club on dual registration terms from Everton, while Maddie Crosbie is a regular between the sticks.

Mitchell will be without the services of Maddie Robinson and Emma Doyle, who are both on loan from Burnley.

“It will be good to get back home and at Turf Moor following a good result last week.

“Once again, the message is about trying to grow the women’s team at this football club and it was a fantastic atmosphere against Wolves.

“If we can get more fans there this weekend, that would be great.

“The weeks are rolling on now and we’ve done our tactical work. It’s all about us and how we perform.

“Halifax will be up for it and on the front foot. They’re an aggressive team out of possession, so we’ll have to be clean in our build-up play.”

Matchday information

Supporters are encouraged to arrive at the stadium as early as possible, with bag checks in operation. Turnstiles open at 1pm and all spectator seating is located in the Bob Lord Stand.

The Rapidz Fan Zone is open from 12pm until kick-off, and entry is free for all match ticket holders.

Activities include a petting zoo and face painting. Vendors will also be selling candy floss and ice cream, with further refreshments available from the kiosk inside.

The Clarets Store opens at 10.30am and closes at 4.30pm, giving you the perfect opportunity to shop our kit and training wear sales.

From there you can also purchase a copy of 'Turf', our official matchday programme, for just £2.50. In there is insight from the women's team staff and playing squad, as well as more information on the Halifax team.

Men's team season ticket holders are reminded that they cannot use this to gain entry to the stadium. A complimentary match ticket must be claimed ONLINE, over the phone on 01282 704718 or in person at the ticket office.

There is no spectator parking available at Turf Moor, and supporters are asked to be mindful of local residents when parking.
