Burnley Women extended their FAWNL Northern Premier Division winning run to 15 matches with an emphatic 7-0 victory over Hull City on Sunday afternoon.

There were six different scorers at the Versa Sportswear Stadium in North Ferriby, with Millie Ravening the player to net a brace.

Ross Wallace made three changes to the team that started the victory over Halifax last time out, with Charley Docherty and Emma Siddall slotting into the defence.

Aimee Kelly paired Claudia Mummery-Walker at the top end, with Naomi Hartley and Charlie Chadwick taking their places on the bench.

The Clarets raced into a 4-0 lead in the opening half hour, and it was Ravening who broke the deadlock with a well-placed header into the bottom right corner.

Daniëls then reacted quickest after Thea Paul had hit the bar from a corner to make it two, before Kelly cut in from the left and curled the team’s third beautifully over Hull ‘keeper Abi Wallace.

Ravening scored her second and Burnley’s fourth from the penalty spot with 29 on the clock and Hull’s first chance of note came 13 minutes later, but Grace Foyer could only fire over from 18 yards.

Wallace’s side could have taken an even bigger lead into the interval in truth, with Jasmine Matthews coming closest when she hit Wallace and a post in one move.

The Clarets’ attacking intent continued into the second half and Millie Chandarana made it five with a fantastic strike from range 10 minutes after the restart.

In the celebrations, Jade Richards made way for Hartley and Heidi replaced Daniëls.

Wallace turned to his bench again as the match entered its final quarter, introducing Brooke Cairns, Tilly Wilkes and Chadwick in place of Mummery-Walker, Paul and Kelly respectively.

Burnley continued their hunt for goals and after Hartley headed a Wilkes cross inches wide, Cairns caressed the ball into the bottom left corner to make it six.

Heid then put the team into seventh heaven as the clock hit 90, tapping in from close range after the ‘keeper palmed Siddall’s cross into her path.

Burnley now have 59 points from their 21 league matches to date, and finish the regular season at home to Stoke City on Sunday 26th April.
