Burnley Women earned their eighth straight victory in all competitions on Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 win over Hull City.
Goals from Brenna McPartlan and Claudia Walker sealed three valuable points for the side in the Northern Premier Division of the FA Women's National League.
The Clarets faced familiar opposition in the Tigresses, on a cold November afternoon at the Easy Buy Stadium. This was the third time the two had met so far this season with Rebecca Sawiuk's side coming away winners following the previous two meetings, a 9-0 victory on the opening day of the league campaign and a 1-0 win in the FA Women’s National League Cup last month.
Sawiuk named two changes from the team that beat Sporting Khalsa last weekend, with Grace Palmer and Reanna Blades in for Amelia Hazard and Anna Grey.
Forward Heidi Logan had the earliest chance for the visitors, a swerving effort, as she looked to make a positive impact on her second start of the campaign.
As the Clarets pushed, Hull City's Helen Lynskey won a free-kick in a dangerous area for the home team but Kirstie Levell did well to punch it away.
The goalscorers from last weekend's win, Laura Elford and Tilly Wilkes, put the Hull defence to work from the get-go. Wilkes saw her effort 20 minutes in saved by Hull keeper Abi Wallace.

A foul by Hull skipper Ellie Tanser on Brenna McPartlan gifted Wilkes another chance when she stepped up to take the free-kick but it was turned behind for a Clarets corner.
As the game approached the 25-minute mark the away side were beginning to seize the momentum. McPartlan picked the ball up centrally and her effort, which whilst struck with force, skidded just wide of the post.
Rachael Ackroyd and the Tigresses defence were kept busy as the Clarets pushed to break the deadlock. As a late Burnley corner was cleared the whistle went with both sides level at half-time.
The start of the second 45 saw no changes for either side.
Burnley continued to rack up the corners. Grace Palmer sent one in, when it was cleared, she managed to get it back and Naomi Hartley got a head to it. Despite protests from the away side the referee waved away any appeals for a handball.
The Clarets won a free-kick in a dangerous position but Palmer's curling effort was well saved by Wallace in goal.
As the away side continued to knock on the door Sawiuk made two attacking changes in the hunt for a goal, with Anna Grey and Amelia Hazard introduced for Heidi Logan and Bella Reidford.
The opportunity to break the deadlock came in the 62nd minute when great work from Reanna Blades, who had enjoyed an impressive display in what was to be her first 90 minutes of the campaign so far, put Maddi Green under pressure. The Hull defender waved a foot bringing her down in the box and the referee blew for a penalty.
McPartlan stepped up and her composed finish sent Wallace the wrong way and gave the Clarets the lead, and her, her fifth goal of the league campaign.

The Clarets continued to dominate as the second half progressed, enjoying plenty of the ball.
The home side made their only change of the afternoon with Shakala Brookes making way for Lily Cockerill.
As they looked to bring the score level a good delivery from Maddi Green to the back post bounced away before a Hull attacker could get on the end of it.
A flurry of changes late into the second half saw Elford replaced by Claudia Walker, closely followed by Charley Docherty who scored on her debut against Hull in the first game of the season, coming on for right-back Emma Siddall.
With five additional minutes added on, Claudia Walker put the game to bed when Anna Grey sent the ball into the area and the forward was there to tap home from close range to seal the three points.
Burnley Women's attention turns to the cup next weekend as they entertain Bradford City in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup second round at the County Ground, Leyland.
