Burnley FC Women travel to the Jericho Lane Sports Hub on Sunday afternoon - 30th October - taking on Liverpool Feds Women in the First Round Proper of the FA Women’s National League Cup (2pm KO)

The trip to Merseyside will be repeated seven days later, 6th November, when the sides meet oncemore back in league action, but for now, full focus is on the League Cup for Jonathan Morgan’s side.

The Claret Women will hope the cup competition can bring about a return to winning ways after three consecutive draws in the Northern Premier Division of the FA Women’s National League.

A 2-2 stalemate at home to West Bromwich Albion Women last weekend was the latest of those, where a last-gasp leveller from the visitors saw the points shared.

Millie Ravening was on target at the County Ground in Leyland, netting on her 21st birthday, with Emma Taylor also hammering home her first goal for the Club since joining on a dual registration agreement from Manchester United Women in the summer.

To reach the First Round Proper in the League Cup, Morgan’s side last month ran out 3-1 winners away against Hull City Ladies in the Determining Round of the competition.

Sunday’s opponents Feds meanwhile had to overcome an additional round. After winning 5-1 at West Brom after extra time, the Merseyside outfit were drawn against Barnsley FC Women, again on the road as Burnley were given a bye.

Newly-promoted into the third tier this season, Feds - managed by Leanne Duffy - won 2-1 in Yorkshire courtesy of a last-minute goal to set up this Sunday’s clash with the Claret Women.

It will provide a first meeting between the two sides since the summer of 2021 when Evie Priestley’s early goal was enough to secure a pre-season success for Burnley.

Fans are welcome to attend the Jericho Lane Sports Hub (L17 5AL). Entry will cost £5 for Adults & £3 for Concessions with U16s able to watch for free.
