Burnley FC Women are in action in their penultimate game of the season on Sunday, as the Clarets travel to West Bromwich Albion Women in the Northern Premier Division of the FA Women’s National League.
Last time the two sides came face to face, West Brom edged the win 3-4, with Shannon Stamps sealing victory in the 88th minute. Goals on the day came from Evie Priestley and Katie Thomas for the Clarets and Ashlee Brown, Hannah George and Jannelle Straker, along with Stamp were on the scoresheet for the visitors.
Burnley will be aiming to keep their positive form going into the two remaining games of the season. The Claret women have lost just one game in 2022 and most recently took a point from an encounter with Huddersfield Town Women in their last league outing in Yorkshire.
The home side have drawn their last two games, against Brighouse Town and Middlesbrough and will play their final game of the campaign away to Stoke City Women on the 1st May.
The Clarets currently sit 6th in the table on 40 points. Meanwhile, heading into the fixture West Brom sit in 8th place on 28 points, so with 12 points separating the two sides, will also be looking to finish the season on a high.
Sunday’s game will take place at Coles Lane, Sutton Coldfield, B72 1NL and kick-off is scheduled for 2pm. Entry is £5 for adults and kids go free.
