Women's team welcome West Bromwich Albion Women to County Ground

Sleeve sponsor TikTok taking part in fun activities on the day

This Sunday will see Burnley FC Women return to Lancashire FA's County Ground to take on West Bromwich Albion Women in the Northern Premier Division of the FA Women's National League.

Burnley arrive at the game on the back of a 2-2 draw away at league leaders Wolves Women FC last weekend, with the home team having to fight back after going behind twice.

Two stunning goals from Millie Ravening gave the Clarets the lead on the day, ensuring the side are in a positive mindset heading into this weekend's fixture.

West Brom, who are currently three points behind the Clarets in the table, visited Derby County last weekend with the game ending goalless.

The trip to Lancashire is the visitors third successive away game and the Clarets will be hoping to put an end to the team's back to back clean sheets.

In addition to the game there will be more football fun for supporters to enjoy, with Burnley FC Women's sleeve sponsor TikTok in attendance on the day. The video sharing platform will be bringing a group of content creators, who will be creating content before, during and after the match, plus taking part in some pitch activities.

Ahead of the game, Burnley FC Women Manager, Matt Bee said: "We have to continue to build on the good energy within the group. Last weekend against Wolves, was a pleasing performance, and we were disappointed not to get all three points.

"You have to be completely focused on everything you do at this level. You don’t get given results; you have to earn them with how you apply yourself across the week’s training and how you carry that into the Sunday performance.

"We have had a consistent mindset and level of application, that is something I expect from every group I work with, now as a group we have to continue to build on the platform we have and keep finding the right balance between being organised and disciplined but also asking questions of the opposition.

"As a team we want to consistently achieve points each week and today is no different. It will be tough against a West Brom side that have had a good upturn of form since Jenny took over as manager.

"They will arrive with a good belief after their recent results, it will be a big test and we have to ensure that everyone operates effectively both in terms of technical and tactical performance and mindset."

Sunday's game will take place at Lancashire FA's County Ground, Leyland, PR25 2LF. KO is 2pm and entry is free.

An online programme for the game will be available on the Burnley FC website on Sunday morning.
