Three goals, three points and a clean sheet
Burnley FC Women were back in league action this afternoon in the FA Women's National League, securing three points against Hull City Ladies.
The team travelled east, on the back of a break in fixtures last weekend and having secured a win against the home side two weeks previously in the League Cup.
A mostly unchanged Burnley side started brightly, piling the pressure on the home side, who have struggled for points since the league commenced in August.
Nic Worthington and Millie Ravening both had shots from outside of the box in the opening ten minutes, showing the Clarets intent early on.

The breakthrough came shortly before the half hour mark when Burnley's number 9 Evie Priestley fizzed a ball invitingly across goal, with Nic Worthington best placed in the box to tap it in, 0-1.
Four minutes later, great build up play by the visitors saw Courtney Willis net again to increase the lead to 2-0.
The Clarets backline remained mainly untroubled as the half drew to a close and headed into the break with a two-goal advantage.
Burnley were quick to it in a second half when a simple through ball to Willis, minutes after the restart, saw her make no mistake and score her second of the afternoon, 0-3.
Hull City picked up more possession during the second half but Burnley stood strong defensively.
Anna Bowman enjoyed a good chance, but keeper Lauren Bracewell kept the shot out and the clean sheet intact.
Burnley passed the ball around well as the time ticked on but couldn't convert any further.
Manager Matt Bee made more changes with Katie Thomas, Olivia Greenhalgh and Michelle Saunders all making appearances throughout the half.
In the closing stages of the game, there were a flurry of yellow cards and sin bins for the home side. Plus, a red card for Hull substitute Megan Cooke.
Burnley stayed calm, continued the attack, and enjoyed good chances as the whistle drew near.
Full-time: 0-3.

Burnley FC Women, Manager Matt Bee said: "The aim this afternoon was to put in a professional performance and build on the momentum of recent weeks. I feel as though for large spells we did that, structurally we looked solid and if we had played a little bit smarter, we could have had more goals.
"A clean sheet was important as that gives us the stability that we want and is something we pride ourselves on.
"The second half was a strange one, considering we started so well and got a third goal. After that we didn't play with enough purpose but overall, a pleasing result."
